Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a program calendar available?

Yes. Enrolled families will receive our program calendar within the first few weeks. There will also be a copy of the program calendar enclosed in enrollment packets. Calendar will also be available on Brightwheel.

Are there COVID-19  protocols/masking?

We believe it is your choice to decide what is best for your family. We will not be masking but understand and support what you feel is best for your family. Please contact our Program Director with any specific needs.

l have more than one child attending your program, do you offer a sibling discount?

No, at this time, we do not offer sibling discounts for our program.

Does NPAD accept Childcare Subsidy?

Yes. In Maine, families seeking childcare subsidies can apply for the Child Care Affordability Program (CCAP). CCAP assists eligible families in paying for child care, enabling parents to work, attend school, or participate in job training programs. It is also available for families where the adults are retired and serve as legal guardians for a child. Will my child EVER go inside?

Yes. Although we spend about 90% of our time outdoors, we always have a dry, warm and cozy space available for those times when we need to seek shelter,  such as when there are forecasted high winds or lightning. These areas are also used for academic support if you opt into our homeschooling offering for your child. Your child's comfort, safety and well-being are our top priorities!

Can my child bring things from home (toys, etc.)?

In short, yes. Please be sure the item is outdoor friendly and safe to be in the elements. Please refrain from bringing electronics or fragile items unless they are able to be safely stowed for most of the day. When in doubt, please ask!

What are the maximum adult:child ratios at Nature Play All Day?

On Monday through Thursday, we maintain a maximum adult-to-child ratio of 1:6. Our cohorts typically consist of 8 to 12 enrolled children, staying within the limits set by our state license, which allows for a maximum of 12 children. While our staff may increase beyond two teachers in the future, we firmly believe that having more eyes on site enhances our ability to support a dynamic program that encourages risky play and exploration.

Do you offer seasonal Parent-Teacher conferences or check-ins?

Families can attend two conferences each year, scheduled in Winter and Spring. While not obligatory, they're highly recommended for discussing your child's progress and addressing any questions. These meetings are relaxed and collaborative, fostering a team approach to support your child's development.

Is there summer programming?

At Nature Play All Day, our program operates year-round, spanning all 12 months. It's important to note that children who unenroll over the summer months may not have a guaranteed spot when fall comes around. We look forward to continuing the enriching journey with your child! *We do shorten our days by one hour in the summer months, ending the day at 1pm.
