Bring Play Back to Childhood!

We are thrilled to introduce our new scholarship initiative, Playful Pathways: Supporting Nature-based Learning. In light of national statistics indicating that many nature-based programs are private and inaccessible to hardworking rural families, especially during these challenging economic times, we are dedicated to ensuring that all children have the opportunity to benefit from nature and play-based education..

The Mission

Bring play back to early childhood. Trading screen time for "green time" is what Nature Play All Day is all about. An off-grid, all outdoor program provides an opportunity for children and adults to learn with and from each other through play.

The Goal:

The Playful Pathways Fundraising Initiative seeks to raise funds to provide two children with tuition scholarships, allowing them to attend Nature Play All Day for two days each week. Your contribution will help create opportunities for these children to explore, play, and learn in our nature-based program.

The Research:

Research from the U.S. Department of Agriculture shows rural areas often face higher poverty rates, limiting families' access to programs like nature-based education. Studies from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) highlight the significant cognitive, social, emotional, and physical benefits of nature-based programs for young children.

Make an Impact

Why Nature-Based Learning?

At Nature Play All Day, we offer an immersive early childhood program for children aged 2.5-6, where play and learning intertwine seamlessly. Our approach revolves around nature and play, championing child-led exploration and cherishing play as the cornerstone of a child's development.

Children in nature-based programs experience cognitive benefits such as improved problem-solving skills, enhanced creativity, and increased attention spans. Socially, they develop stronger communication skills, learn cooperation through collaborative play, and foster empathy and respect for the environment and each other. Emotionally, they build resilience, confidence, and a sense of wonder and connection to the natural world.

Give the Gift of Play

The Rights of Children:

We believe access to nature is an essential right for all children, regardless of their income or financial status. Our Playful Pathways Tuition Scholarship initiative aims to support families in Knox and Waldo counties, Maine. Our goal is to raise funds to secure scholarships covering the full year's tuition for two children, enabling them to attend Nature Play All Day for the 2024/25 school year starting in August 2024.

By contributing to Playful Pathways, you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children and their families. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings us closer to providing access to a foundation of deeply impactful nature and play-based education.
