What is Forest Camp?

At Nature Play All Day’s Forest Camp, children are invited to slow down, explore, and immerse themselves in the wonders of the natural world. Our summer programs tap into children’s natural curiosity and innate ability to connect with the environment—whether they’re discovering an animal track along the stream, cooking over a fire, or listening to the wind through the trees.

Through hands-on, child-led activities like stream wading, foraging, plant and creature identification, fireside cooking, shelter building, art projects, mini adventure hikes, and loose parts exploration, campers learn to observe, problem-solve, and build confidence in their abilities. Each day offers new opportunities to explore, discover, and engage in cooperative challenges, fostering friendships and a deep connection to the land.

Forest Camp is more than just a summer program—it’s a journey of discovery, resilience, and wonder. Our time together encourages children to become thoughtful stewards of the earth through exploration and play. We believe that meaningful learning happens outside, where curiosity can run wild and imaginations can grow.

Our Daily Rhythm

8:30-9:00 am: Arrival

9:00 am: Morning Circle at the School Yard Fire Circle

9:30 am: Group Hike to Basecamp / Exploration & Play

10:30 am: Morning Activity (adult-led)

11:00 am - 2:00 pm: Exploration & Play (grazing snack/lunch)

2:15 pm: Tidy & Afternoon Circle

3:00 pm: Dismissal
